We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with 5 to 15 years of professional experience to join our high-performing team. You will work on complex, high-performance financial systems that drive critical operations, particularly in the banking and investment sectors.

What you'll do

Develop, manage and improve enterprise-level Java applications using Spring Framework.
Write efficient SQL queries and optimize database interactions.
Develop multi-threaded applications to handle simultaneous operations.
Write clear and testable code according to TDD principles and maintain robust unit and integration tests.
Collaborate with business analysts to translate financial domain requirements into technical specifications.
Work on financial systems such as trading platforms, risk management tools, and settlement systems.
Optimize applications for performance and low latency.
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Identify, assess, and report security risks and ensure data protection compliance.

What they're looking for

5 to 15 years of practical experience in Java development.
Proficiency in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
Advanced knowledge of SQL and database performance optimization.
Expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit/integration tests.
Strong experience with multi-threaded processing, concurrent programming, and low-latency systems.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and architectural principles.
Bilingual in French and English.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Willingness to work a hybrid schedule in Montreal (3 days in office).

Nice to have

Previous experience in the banking and investment field.
Familiarity with the FIX protocol, exchange platforms, or risk management systems.
Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
Experience with profiling and performance optimization tools.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
