About the role
Shape both the near-term roadmap and the long-term vision for the core Chess.com experience, making the product more fun, engaging, and enjoyable for players at every level.
As a globally remote company, you will work in a fast-paced environment that relies on async communication to build alignment and make decisions.
What you'll do
- Shape the core product roadmap and vision in close partnership with leadership.
- Identify what keeps players coming back, what causes them to leave, and what will delight them next.
- Operate in public via async Slack communication, brainstorming openly and making decisive calls with reasoning.
- Partner deeply with engineering to shape technical approaches and write crisp specs.
- Own engagement metrics, build intuition for what drives them, and use data to prioritize ruthlessly.
- Use AI to prototype, de-risk, and accelerate ideas before engineering investment.

- Ability to form a strong point of view on what is worth building and why.
- Capability to internalize feedback and push back when necessary.
- Strong writing and communication skills for a globally remote, async environment.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to run experiments and own engagement metrics.
