    About the role

GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, enabling organizations to increase developer productivity, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate digital transformation. More than 50 million registered users and more than 50% of the Fortune 100 trust GitLab to ship better, more secure software faster.

As a Go-to-Market (GTM) Recruiter, you'll help GitLab build the teams that drive growth by partnering with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Field Operations. You will own searches from intake through close, building inclusive pipelines and using data to guide hiring decisions as a trusted talent advisor.

GitLab is a globally distributed, remote-first environment where team members embrace AI as a core productivity multiplier. Our high-performance culture is driven by values and continuous knowledge exchange, enabling team members to reach their full potential while collaborating to solve complex problems.

    What you'll do

    • Manage full-cycle searches for Account Executives, Solutions Architects, Customer Success, and Sales Operations, typically carrying 12-15 requisitions at a time.
    • Lead intake and kickoff conversations to align hiring teams on role scope, territory, quota expectations, and interview plans.
    • Partner with hiring teams on structured, equitable interviews with clear competencies and actionable feedback.
    • Use talent-market research, compensation benchmarks, and funnel metrics to shape search strategy and address hiring issues.
    • Assess sales candidates on track record, quota attainment, deal complexity, and experience relevant to GitLab's sales segments.
    • Build research-based, diversity-focused sourcing plans balancing applicants, passive talent, and targeted outreach.
    • Deliver a thoughtful candidate experience through disciplined pipeline management and proactive communication.
    • Improve recruiting practices by sharing learnings, using AI responsibly, and representing GitLab's mission and culture.

    What they're looking for

    • Full-cycle recruiting experience in competitive markets, including offer and compensation conversations.
    • Sales or go-to-market recruiting experience, or a strong interest in learning sales segments, quotas, OTE, and sales cycles.
    • Developing advisor skills including building stakeholder trust and influencing without authority.
    • Experience building proactive, diversity-focused sourcing strategies and balanced pipelines.
    • A data-informed approach that turns funnel insights into practical actions.
    • Strong organization across multiple requisitions and clear written and verbal communication across time zones.
    • Experience with Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, Metaview, or comparable recruiting platforms.
    • Ability to evaluate AI-generated work and protect confidential information.

    Nice to have

    • Technology or business-to-business (B2B) software recruiting experience.

The hot takeJeff's read on Gitlab

GitLab has put more effort into their employee marketing and policies than 99.99% of the companies we've researched over the years. Seriously, their handbook is absolutely massive.

The ONLY thing that throws me off about them is an unclear statement about their stance on what "work from anywhere" actually means. They say:

"All-remote means that each individual in an organization is empowered to work and live where they are most fulfilled."

But they also say that hey need to have an entity in your home country in order to be hired, so I'd love to know if they have a list of the countries they will hire from.
