    About the role

GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, enabling organizations to increase developer productivity, improve operational efficiency, and reduce security risk. The company embraces AI as a core productivity multiplier and maintains a high-performance culture driven by continuous knowledge exchange.

GitLab’s Enablement & AI organization helps revenue teams build the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence they need to sell GitLab effectively. This team partners across various departments to turn business priorities into scalable programs, practical content, and training.

The Public Sector Enablement Lead supports GitLab’s Public Sector team and reports to the Vice President, Enablement & AI. This role focuses on equipping internal and external customers and partners with the resources needed to differentiate and sell GitLab across Federal, State, Local, and Education markets.

    What you'll do

    • Develop and lead the execution of sales enablement programs for Public Sector (PubSec) customers and partners.
    • Partner with Public Sector field leadership to identify needs and tailor content to federal, state, local, and education buying environments.
    • Scope and build new enablement content focused on product knowledge, skill development, and onboarding specifically for the Public Sector business.
    • Collaborate with enablement content and operations teams to develop core curriculum including compliance-specific content.
    • Align sales enablement activities with new product releases, campaigns, and industry trade shows relevant to the Public Sector.
    • Leverage Salesforce, Clari, Claude, and other tools to deliver training and educate the team on federal contracting processes.
    • Develop sales training job aids, supporting materials, and assessments including Deal Desk and compliance-related guidance.
    • Measure and report on the effectiveness of sales enablement investments against Public Sector business outcomes.

    What they're looking for

    • Progressive experience in a SaaS or software sales enablement role.
    • Required experience supporting Public Sector, Federal, or SLED go-to-market teams in a government or regulated industry context.
    • Working knowledge of Public Sector procurement, compliance, and contracting requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, DAP, air-gapped/on-prem deployment).
    • Experience building relationships with sales leaders and teams within Public Sector or Federal organizations.
    • Working knowledge of sales training technology, methodologies, and enablement concepts.
    • Experience executing sales effectiveness strategies tailored to Public Sector buying cycles.
    • Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to travel for events such as team offsites or training.

    Nice to have

    • Expertise in DevOps and/or Open Source.
    • Candidates located in the DC Metro area preferred.

The hot takeJeff's read on Gitlab

GitLab has put more effort into their employee marketing and policies than 99.99% of the companies we've researched over the years. Seriously, their handbook is absolutely massive.

The ONLY thing that throws me off about them is an unclear statement about their stance on what "work from anywhere" actually means. They say:

"All-remote means that each individual in an organization is empowered to work and live where they are most fulfilled."

But they also say that hey need to have an entity in your home country in order to be hired, so I'd love to know if they have a list of the countries they will hire from.
