(Hot job listings at the bottom)

I've been BURIED in LinkedIn conversations about jobs and the hiring market the past few weeks.

The gist is that people are really struggling to get hired right now.

Some of you might get exactly what I'm talking about!

Let me take 30 seconds to explain why you're not hearing back from companies.

Bear with me, please, it's worth understanding what's up.

The number of job listings has actually increased over the past month 👇

    That's GOOD, right?
    That's GOOD, right?

Maybe not. There's a hitch...the HIRING RATE has actually decreased.

More job opportunities, but fewer hirings. What the HELL could that possibly mean? Well, we're starting to find out that nearly HALF of job listings on remote job boards are FAKE.

So in short, there aren't nearly as many jobs available as it seems. It's a mirage.

    So what do you do?

In short, you have to be MUCH more clever and strategic about how you track down and apply for jobs. You have to stand out like a diamond in the rough 💎

In this week's podcast, we explain the exact steps to take to stand out in the crowd.

I'll give you the Tl;Dr version...

    1. Choose a company - Rather than chasing individual job listings, you need to find a company you would like to work for based on its principles, culture, product, and work environment.
    2. Make connections - Each job listing will get hundreds of job applications. You're one of hundreds of strangers. You NEED to make weak ties with the company you want to work for BEFORE you apply for a job.
    3. Tailor your CV - You'll never make it through a company's applicant tracking system if you don't customize your resume for the specific role you're looking for.
    4. Be ambitious - You want to make it easy for the hiring manager to choose you. Be the squeaky wheel. Be professionally persistent (but don't be annoying).

Then...you need to nail your interview. But that's a conversation for another day 😅
