Hey, does your job search sound like this

"I was laid off in January of 2025 and spent the entire year looking for roles. I only landed 7 series of interviews with organizations and all but one ghosted me around the final interview in the process without explanation. I have since taken a role in retail to have any source of income, and honestly I feel incredibly stuck and defeated. Help meeee"

As you can probably imagine, we've talked to thousands of job seekers about their experience/nightmare. Do any/all of these check out for you?

✅ I get through several rounds of interviews then never hear back.

✅ I'm applying to 50+ jobs a week and never hear anything

✅ I'm getting screened out by AI filters

    ✅ I'm getting ghosted constantly.

If that's striking a chord, it's not you, it's a broken system and you're playing the lottery by applying cold on remote job boards. Here's a graphic of what it looks like (for you) on the left hand side, versus using a strategy of relationship building on the right hand side.

Feel like you don't know where to start? Or need help figuring out what you need to figure out? Take this quiz to see what kind of help you need in your specific journey.

These are companies WE tracked down over the past five years, not companies that paid to get on another job board. Each company is reviewed and scored based on their remote work policy, perks & bennies, employee reviews, and company culture. This is a great way to start on your journey of establishing relationships rather than chasing job postings.

    Constructor

    All-time GOAT 🐐

    Software Dev · 101-1,000 · Est. 2015 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Constructor is the only AI product discovery platform designed explicitly for eCommerce retailers. Unlike other product search and discovery platforms, machine learning is in Constructor's DNA, bringing dynamic personalization to the customer experience.

    🌶️ Hot take

Don't even think, just make some connections/relationships here and get in the door. That's my professional advice.

Constructor's careers page is 90% employee-first in its verbiage, with a few tiny blurbs at the bottom about the company's core values. They are PITCHING prospects. Bravo. And guess what? They are going to get the best talent that works the hardest and doesn't leave the company.

With a 94% employee retention rate and 4.7 stars on Glassdoor, I completely buy it. Note to companies out there still promoting themselves as company/vision-first, take note. This is how you build a strong team and generate revenue. Here's a few things I like:

✈️ Unlimited PTO: "We provide unlimited vacation time, unlimited sick time, and a minimum of 10 paid holidays every year. Also, take 3 mandatory weeks off per year!"

🏥 Healthcare: "Constructor pays for 99% of our United States team members’ medical, dental, and vision premiums."

🔌 Tech/workspace stipend: "Constructor supports your optimal work-from-home setup. This includes a yearly Remote Work Stipend + one-time New Hire $500 Setup Stipend, as well as a company-issued Apple laptop."

📚 Learning stipend: "On top of our Lifestyle Stipend, Constructor also provides a Yearly Learning & Development $500 Stipend."

    Zapier

    Elite. Chef's kiss 🤌

    Software Dev · 1,000+ · Est. 2011 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Automation that moves everyone forward. Zapier is on a mission to make automation work for everyone. With Zapier, you can integrate apps like Salesforce, Intuit, Google, and Dropbox, to move data between them automatically, so you can focus on your most important work.

    🌶️ Hot take

Even the title tag of their page says "Work from anywhere." They are so pro-WFA that they implemented it into their SEO strategy. My heart is full today.

Check out their Total Rewards page on benefits and perks for employees. Also, they have a wildly self-aware Next Play Program. Here's what it's about:

We're true partners in hiring, retaining, and growing our talent. Through our Next Play Program, we support all Zapier teammates and alumni in landing their next big role—internally or externally. We equip teammates with growth plans, an internal job board, defined career pathways, and personalized support.

They will help you find your next role. That's unbelievably confident and secure, especially when every other company out there wants you to pretend that you're never going to leave the company, like you're working for a Ford production plant in the 60s.

Also, check out their entire resource guide on how to manage remote work.

Here's some other perks & bennies I like:

🏝️ Flex PTO: "Flexible time-off policy (most teammates take 4-6 weeks off per year for vacation and holidays)"

✈️ Company Retreats: "1 annual company retreat to an awesome place"

🍼 Parental Leave: "14 weeks of 100% fully paid leave for new parents"

💪🏽 Wellness Budget: "Annual Live Well budget (Lifestyle Spending Account) (for wellness, travel, meals, entertainment, and other activities that help you live a fulfilled life!)"

🔌 Tech Budget: "Once-off New Hire Office Setup budget (for a desk, chair, screen, and other peripherals to set you up to do your best work!)"

    Mode Mobile

    A mixed bag 💼

    Software Dev · 11-100 · Est. 2017 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

At Mode, they believe that every human on the planet deserves an equal opportunity to become financially self-sustaining. Therefore, they've developed earn-as-you-go software that enables supplemental income, democratizes access to capital, and increases the realization of financial potential for budget-conscious, financially-challenged, and underserved consumers globally.

    🌶️ Hot take

There's some legit positives about this company:

    • Strong Glassdoor score (4.2).
    • Clear remote work policy.
    • They're global: "Our team works remotely around the 🌎, with members in the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Poland, India, and more."

The negatives I've gleaned are a bit of hustle/grindset language. I'd rather see them pitch YOU on why you should want to work there rather than hustle language like:

    • "Accomplish More with Less"
    • "Hold Yourself & Others to High Standards"

That said, these are normal statements we see regularly, so you can't hold it against them too much.

Best for EU WFA job seekers

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

At Impact Brands the thrill and excitement of making a positive IMPACT on BILLIONS of people is their fuel. They prioritize premium quality natural and organic health products, superior service, and creative marketing. Every day they explore revolutionary mediums to help improve the lives of people all over the world.

    🌶️ Hot take

Sept 9, 2026 update: Glassdoor scores have dropped from 4.8 to 3.8 over the past year. Don't write them off (I'll keep an eye on them for you), but don't ignore it, either. If it drops past 3.5 we will drop them from the list.

Their careers page really lacks detail. As a matter of fact, the majority of my findings come directly from their job listings. But, they have a solid remote work policy, decent Glassdoor reviews, and some solid perks.

🚨 Important note: It APPEARS that they are targeting Eastern European employees based on the salary ranges offered. If I find in the future that they only target EE employees, I will likely opt to not include them. But keep this in mind!

🏝️ Remote work: "Remote work. We are a fully remote organization, allowing you to work from any location."

🔌 Home office budget: "A home office allowance and the possibility to choose between a MacBook or a Windows-based workstation.

🏥 Health and wellness budget: "We value your well-being - investment in your health is not just encouraged but actively supported."

✈️ PTO: Enjoy 25+ Working Days of Holidays to recharge and relax from work.

    Caylent

One of my current heartthrobs 💞

    IT Services · 101-1,000 · Est. 2015 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Caylent is a cloud-native services provider specializing in leveraging AWS to optimize both people and technology within organizations. In today's software-driven environment, technology plays a central role in every business operation. To excel in this landscape, organizations must equip their teams and workflows with cutting-edge technology. Caylent excels at transforming bold concepts into reality, fueling innovation for our clients, and helping them thrive in this digital era.

    🌶️ Hot take

Caylent does a GREAT job of pitching prospective employees on their careers page. I love it when companies emphasize their global presence, which Caylent does multiple times. Companies who emphasize global employment care about output over location, period.

Also, Caylent was founded as a remote company, which makes a huge difference. Companies that adapted to a remote world as a result of covid generally did so out of necessity, and a lot of them did a poor job of it. And, a lot of them have gone RTO. Companies founded as remote companies have excellent structures in place to support working from anywhere.

Lastly, they have a 4.4 on Glassdoor, putting them in the upper tier of remote companies.

    Wikimedia

    The old stalwart

    Software Dev · 1,000+ · Est. 2003 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

The Wikimedia Foundation is all about supporting free knowledge for everyone. They run Wikipedia, the awesome volunteer-run encyclopedia, and other cool community projects, all powered by donations. They invite everyone to join in and help share diverse knowledge with the world.

    🌶️ Hot take

They're on everyone's list, for good reason. Now before you @me, let's clear something up because this always seems to confuuuuuuuuuuuuse people.

"Work from anywhere" ≠ "hire from anywhere"

These. Are. Not. The. Same. Things.

Employee mobility policies have nothing to do with whether or not a company CAN hire you to begin with...this has to do with taxes, legal, insurance, security, and more.

✔︎ Employee hiring eligibility: Here are the eligible citizens: Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya*, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore*, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Our non-US employees are hired through a local third party Employer of Record (EOR) and must have current work authorization in their location. (*citizens/permanent residents only)

Unsurprisingly, their careers page reads a bit like a Wikipedia page! It's well-organized, incredibly clear and transparent. Remember - WFA does not mean the same thing as "hire from anywhere"! Read the blurb below.

    Here's some things I like:

🔌 Tech Stipend: "Equipment including a laptop, monitor, plus a one-time $600 stipend to cover any additional needs to make sure you have the best work from home experience."

📚 Learning Stipend: "We offer reimbursement of conferences, college/university classes, online programs, and books related to work that supports the Wikimedia Foundation."

🏋🏾 Health & Wellness: "We provide $450 per quarter up to $1,800.00 a year for reimbursement for staff wellness expenses, such as gym fees, educational expenses, and more!"

🏥 Healthcare: "Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees and their eligible families."

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Growe is a business advisory and services firm specialized in the iGaming and entertainment sectors. They build scalable strategies and provide support—everything from market entry, branding, and business structuring to marketing, IT, and talent management—to help clients expand and thrive in new markets.

    🌶️ Hot take

I'm really liking Growe, but I want to see more information from them. I want to see more about their remote work policy (other than roles that say "anywhere" as a location designation), a comprehensive list of perks and benefits, and maybe...maybe transparent salaries. That said, I'm liking a lot f what I'm seeing. Here's some important details:

    • Many roles are work from anywhere. Not all, but many. Don't @ me if you find roles on their careers page that aren't WFA, I warned ya.
    • Sept 9 update: They have a 4.6 Glassdoor review score. Again, not something you should put all your stock into, but still solid.
    • Transparent, published hiring process so that you're not floundering through two months of several rounds of interviews.

I'm not seeing much published regarding the actual benefits they offer, so if Growe is reading this, please shoot me a note with details.
