Companies pay to list whatever they want, and the job board collects the money. Look at this one I found the other day for a remote baker:
I also found one for a pool tech, and a handyman.
So, I created a page where you can drop in the job listing and it'll check for:
- How old the listing is so that you're not applying for ghost job from 2017 👴🏻
- Fake remote red flags 🚩
- Corporate culture dog whistles ("fast paced work environment") 😈
- Whether a salary is listed or not 💰
- Perks and bennies, etc. 💰
And if a job looks legit, like this one from DuckDuckGo, you'll know what you're getting into.

GoMining is basically like buying a slice of a Bitcoin mining machine so you can earn crypto daily without dealing with the loud hardware, insane electricity bills, or any of the technical headache.

The careers page is practically non-existent, and their remote policy is only included in job listings "Work-life fit: remote or hybrid format with flexible hours across international teams." Many of the jobs say "worldwide", but we would love to see much more clarity added along with clearly printed perks and benefits. Lots of room for improvement.

When I say I'm looking for perfect clarity from a company on their remote policy, Oyster sets the standard. They allow you to work from anywhere (including a beach), but make it clear if certain roles require specific timezones in order to align with the company. The are under no delusions that employees have lives outside of work and need to thrive there AS WELL as in front of the laptop to do well in life.
I want to enshrine these two cards in careers page hall of fame
Further, they give employees 40 days of PTO per year, which I actually PREFER to unlimited PTO. Oyster is a no-doubter for me.
