Sorry it's late. My week has been like Odysseus's journey home. Anyone else getting that? Goodness gracious, bring me the weekend.

But in the chaos, I did manage to create my favorite thing I've EVER, ever created for Beach Commute.

    Drumroll...it's a resume creator →.

    God it's so beautiful.
    God it's so beautiful.

Oh, not as excited as I am? Well you freaking should be because it's legit the best one out there, I think. Let me shamelessly explain why.

✅ Increases your odd of being seen by a human

In this world? Imagine that?! It builds your resume against a set of 12 weighted guidelines we developed to get past AI filters, and impress hiring managers.

    Article content

Most people don't know why they don't hear back on job applications. These rules are a HUGE part of it. Even if you don't use the optimizer, use these rules.

    ✅ It's absolutely idiot-proof

For people like me, it's great. It highlights the area that needs to be fixed, you fix it on the right with the instructions, and boom, done.

    Article content

✅ You can optimize it for any job, from anywhere.

Find a job you like in the Atlas, click the "fit" button, and it'll pull it directly into the studio for optimizing. Or you can paste it in from the web, or start from scratch.

    Article content

And you really have to customized your resume for every job. It increases your chances of getting an interview by 80-105%

✅ You can build one from scratch by answering some questions

Need to start over? Easy peasy. Fill out questions an dit will build it as you write, using all the rules for success.

    Article content
    Read this one, I'm funny.

It's a lot faster than you would think, and is automatically formatted in a way that works.

✅ It uses eye tracking heat maps

So once you make it past an AI screening bot, the typical hiring manager spends about six seconds on a resume. This shows you the hot spots they will see first. So...nail your job title, summary, and first job.

    Article content
    Heatmaps are so cool

People really don't realize how important that job title is. You HAVE to use a standardized title for the job. You can throw "storyteller" in the trash bin.

✅ It creates a matching cover letter matching your resume

Once you're done with the resume, go ahead and draft a cover letter, then do some light editing. Done deal. Move onto the next job.

    Article content
Honestly, you just gotta try it →

Pricing-wise, at $19/month it's more affordable than TealHQ, and is created by me and Marisa, two small business owners who live in this stuff every day. Give it a shot, honestly.

Now, here's the Remote Weekly Top 3 that you missed over the past week 👇

    Remote Weekly

The Top 3 you missed this week

    1

Hiring managers are increasingly out of touch 😕

The stories I hear every day are mind blowing. Candidates legitimately get treated like crap nowadays.

    Article content
The expect you to do this fake song-and-dance:

    - Don't ask about salary.

    - Don't seem fake when you pretend to care about the "company values."

    - Be okay with the fact that your hiring process make take three months

    Article content
    - Do free work

    - Buy their product to be considered for the job

    - Then get ghosted, or some heartless automated response.

    Article content

I'm doing a new series where I share these stories on video. Share your story and I'll give you a free week on the Atlas, including the Resume Studio.

    2

You might not be hearing back because you're late ⏰

Applying to a new job listing within the first 24-48 hours that it first dropped increases your odds of getting an interview by 4-8x. Don't believe me? Fine. Just run the math yourself. For the last job we hired for I received 1,000 applications in three days.

Put yourself in a hiring manager's shoes. How would YOU manage that kind of volume? Here's some additional timing info from a TalentWorks study.

Argument is now "when" people work, not where 🌍

I found an old article this year that I think is still poignant. Bosses basically lost the “get back to your desk” fight, so now they’re trying to police your hours instead.

The data isn’t on their side. In JLL’s survey of 8,700 workers, work-life balance just overtook salary as the #1 priority (65%, up from 59% in 2022). Over half say flexible hours would make their lives better, but only 49% actually have them. That gap is the entire story.

And the response to losing the trust war? Surveillance. Gartner found 60% of employers now track their people, double the pre-pandemic rate. Which is the whole reason “coffee badging” exists: swipe in, grab a latte, dip out. Treat grown adults like kids and they’ll game you like kids. The one-size-fits-all mandate is dying, and good riddance.

That was a long opener. Sorry, I had a lot of coffee. With that, let's get into the remote jobs of the week!

    Sumsub

    A smoking hot GOAT 🐐

    IT Services · 1,000+ · Est. 2015 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Sumsub is an identity verification, KYC/AML, transaction monitoring, and fraud-prevention platform that helps businesses verify users and companies while staying compliant.

    🌶️ Hot take

Love 'em. Period. I even wrote an entire love letter.

There is SO much to like about this company, starting with the very first line on their careers page: "Trust over control. We hire smart people and let them shine. No micromanaging, no games—just trust, ownership, and great work." This is EVERYTHING that you look for in a company. They are all about output over attendance, they don't micromanage, they have strong Glassdoor reviews, and a MOSTLY clear remote work policy.

    📊 BeachScore Live

Sumsub gets a solid 81% on the Beach Commute Atlas. With a slightly clearer remote work policy we would be golden.

"Remote-first, trust-based culture. Work from the place that works best for you. No mandatory office days, no attendance trackers. In some locations, we provide offices or coworking spaces, but the choice is yours. "Remote-first and future-ready. Work where you're happiest and most productive—your schedule, your choice, your rules." "Hubs in 8 cities, plus coworking spaces worldwide. Visit often (or never), or drop by when you need a change of scene."

    Raya

    Tech · 101-1,000 · Est. 2015 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Raya is basically a super exclusive, membership-only dating and networking app where creatives, influencers, and semi-famous (or trying-to-be-famous) people connect—but you have to get approved or invited to even get in.

    🌶️ Hot take

Not. Much. Info. It's a bare bones careers page. But, if you jump into their listings you'll find that they regularly hire fully-remote roles, along with an awesome perk we've never heard about: "$1,000 a year to go somewhere in the world, $1k to go somewhere in the world that you’ve never been." Inquire about whether or not they will let you travel while working! They really need to publish more info on their careers page!

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

At Alpaca, it's all about supporting hundreds of businesses worldwide with our developer-friendly API brokerage platform. You can trade stocks and crypto, access real-time market data, and enjoy top-notch brokerage infrastructure using our modern APIs.

    🌶️ Hot take

I like their clear views on the value of remote work, check out this quote from their careers page:

"Our teams are not just global, we're also 100% remote and have team members in almost every time zone and continent (except Antarctica). By joining Alpaca you'll be part of a multicultural, international organization."

Update October 22, 2026: We're still sitting at 3.6 on GD. It's been a bit of a whirlwind on there this year. I'll keep an eye on it for you, homies.

I'm a LITTLE wary of this statement that gives me a bit of a "hustle culture" vibe:

"We're keen on that last 10% of effort and believe that the details do matter. If this sounds like you, then you're in the right place."

I get it from a company perspective...don't love it from a prospect marketing perspective.

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

VRChat, Inc. stands out as a top Virtual World platform, home to a bustling online community of users and creators. Thanks to significant investments from key partners, they're set to expand and enhance VRChat well into the future.

    🌶️ Hot take

Their remote work policy really does some good things for me:

"We believe that great work happens where you thrive. VRChat is a remote-first company, with a team spread across the globe. We value flexibility, trust, and autonomy—so you can do your best work, wherever you are."

They do have a number of boilerplate "values" on their careers page is about the same that you read or expect for any company, so I'd LOVE to see this area dedicated to explain/convince prospective employees why they should consider working for the company.

At Impact Brands the thrill and excitement of making a positive IMPACT on BILLIONS of people is their fuel. They prioritize premium quality natural and organic health products, superior service, and creative marketing. Every day they explore revolutionary mediums to help improve the lives of people all over the world.

    🌶️ Hot take

October 22, 2026 update: Glassdoor scores have dropped from 4.8 to 3.9 over the past year. It's bouncing a lot. Don't write them off (I'll keep an eye on them for you), but don't ignore it, either. If it drops past 3.5 we will drop them from the list.

Their careers page really lacks detail. As a matter of fact, the majority of my findings come directly from their job listings. But, they have a solid remote work policy, decent Glassdoor reviews, and some solid perks.

🚨 Important note: It APPEARS that they are targeting Eastern European citizens based on the salary ranges offered. But I want to take care of everyone. If I find in the future that they only target EE employees, I will likely opt to not include them. But keep this in mind!

🏝️ Remote work: "Remote work. We are a fully remote organization, allowing you to work from any location."

🔌 Home office budget: "A home office allowance and the possibility to choose between a MacBook or a Windows-based workstation.

🏥 Health and wellness budget: "We value your well-being - investment in your health is not just encouraged but actively supported."

    💻 Note for job seekers

I am not a recruiter nor am not affiliated with any of the companies listed above. I currently cannot help you get hired with one of these specific companies for a role listed, or give you a recommendation. Note: "Hire from anywhere" is not the same as "Work from anywhere." Some companies are not able to hire employees from anywhere, but this does not mean they are not a "work from anywhere" company.

    💵 Salary estimates

We share publicly available remote job opportunities and, where salaries aren’t listed, we provide independent market estimates. These estimates do not reflect official company data.

    ✍🏾 Editorial Note

The company reviews in this newsletter are editorial opinion content. They reflect my personal views and analysis based on publicly available information, including job postings, company websites, employee review platforms, and news coverage, as of the date of publication. They are not statements of fact and should not be read as claims about any company's internal practices, finances, or legal standing.

Company policies, benefits, and remote work arrangements change often. Some information may be outdated or incomplete by the time you read this. Do your own research and verify details directly with the company before making career decisions. These reviews are not paid or sponsored unless explicitly disclosed.

Nothing in this newsletter is career, legal, or financial advice. If you represent a company featured here and believe something is factually inaccurate, reply to this email and I'll review it.
