I've got some not-so-surprising news for you: Companies that allow remote work are growing 1.7x faster than companies that don't. That's not a surprise to me, how about you? Remote companies tend to be more agile, data-driven (rather than vibes and values-driven), and smaller.

According to the report: “While Fortune 100 firms have tightened policies… smaller firms – employing half the US workforce – aren’t following suit."

In terms of reasoning for companies sticking with remote flexibility, the report says: “Regardless of size, flexibility is a competitive advantage. In every industry, at every size, there are companies using flexibility to attract and retain talent,”

So what does this mean for you?

    1. Smaller companies tend to have more work flexibility.
    2. Companies founded on remote work structures (rather than forced into them through covid) stick to remote work, and are much better at measuring output and contribution over physical attendance.
    3. You should look up companies with a 4+ score on our Anywhere Atlas database of fully-remote companies.

RTO results in quiet quitting, discontent, brain drain, higher turnover, and disgruntled employees. Don't believe what you're hearing about the RTO hype - it's just the huge enterprises who were forced into it due to covid.

In other news, I've got a massive list of remote jobs this week, full of the types of jobs (non-tech, marketing heavy) that you're always asking me for.

Apply directly on their careers pages, and good luck!

    Winona

    New Featured Company Alert 🔥

Health Services, Telehealth · 11-100 · Est. 2020 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Winona is a telehealth company that helps women manage menopause symptoms by connecting them with doctors and delivering personalized hormone therapy treatments directly to their door.

    🌶️ Hot take

Another suggestion from a reader is Winona, a telehealth platform supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. They are a small company, so there isn't a ton of information out there, but I like a lot of what I see on their careers page, and they are a fully-remote company. There aren't a ton of published perks, but here's what I did find:

💪🏽 Flexible hours: "Embrace the flexibility of a fully-remote setup. With Winona, you can work from the comfort of your own space, as you contribute to a cause that truly matters."

🏝️ Unlimited PTO: Unlimited Paid Time Off.

    Zapier

    Software Dev · 1,000+ · Est. 2011 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Automation that moves everyone forward. Zapier is on a mission to make automation work for everyone. With Zapier, you can integrate apps like Salesforce, Intuit, Google, and Dropbox, to move data between them automatically, so you can focus on your most important work.

    🌶️ Hot take

Before we even get into the working conditions for employees, as a product, we use Zapier for EVERYTHING. Zapier's automations literally make our business function. The tools you can integrate and automate is absolutely WILD. In terms of working for Zapier, they check every box. Check out their Total Rewards page on benefits and perks for employees.

Also, they have a wildly self-aware Next Play Program. Here's what it's about:

We're true partners in hiring, retaining, and growing our talent. Through our Next Play Program, we support all Zapier teammates and alumni in landing their next big role—internally or externally. We equip teammates with growth plans, an internal job board, defined career pathways, and personalized support.

They will help you find your next role. That's unbelievably confident and secure, especially when every other company out there wants you to pretend that you're never going to leave the company, like you're working for a Ford production plant in the 60s.

Also, check out their entire resource guide on how to manage remote work.

    Remote

    HR Services · 1,000+ · Est. 2019 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Remote is on a mission to level the playing field when it comes to talent and opportunity. They're all about giving everyone a fair shot by helping employers discover top talent and individuals achieve financial and personal freedom. As a global HR platform, Remote simplifies the process of hiring, managing, and paying your team. Their wide range of solutions, from HRIS to international employment services, equips businesses to thrive in the fast-paced global marketplace.

    🌶️ Hot take

Remote gets a RARE 5/5 on our remote emphasis scale. Everything about their careers page is THE model for how fully-remote companies should market themselves to prospects. The FIRST thing they talk about (in the freaking header) is their work-from-anywhere policy. Then they launch right into their asynchronous work style (and further reinforcement of their remote policy).

With a company size of 1,000+, HOW are they still able to maintain this employee-first mentality? No companies are able to scale AND maintain this line.

Oh, and you also know I'm a huge fan of a transparent handbook, so here's theirs.

Updated note for Sep 3: Glassdoor reviews have dropped from 4.0 to 3.5 (down from 3.7 a few weeks ago). Again, don't put all your stock in this, but use it as an indicator. Also note that I've heard from job applicants that your application may or may not be prioritized or compensated depending on your geographical location - but they do a good job of explaining this in each individual job listing. Read them carefully.

    Tech, Technology · 101-1,000 · Est. 2016 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Passion.io lets you easily create and sell your own mobile app without needing to know how to code — kind of like building your own Netflix or fitness coaching app for your audience. It's perfect if you're a coach, creator, or expert who wants to turn your content into a polished, interactive experience people can access from their phones.

    🌶️ Hot take

These folks have very very little for me to work with from their sparse careers page, BUT they have a work-from-anywhere remote work policy and a 4.7 Glassdoor score. Also, they have a lot of personality and detail in their job listings, which they REALLY should be including on their careers page. Like, seriously. I love some of the buried statements in these listings, like:

"Your success is measured by results, not hours."

    And some awesome perks like:

"Enjoy 24 days of paid vacation plus 10 days of “Celebration Leave” for holidays that matter to you."

C'mon folks, there is SO much good stuff in these listings - get it formatted on your careers page! I love it. I will say that I LOVE their employee video, which you should definitely watch. Most importantly, they look fun and genuine. Here's some things I like:

🏝️ Paid Retreats: "✈️ Team retreats to meet your team IRL in places like Portugal, Croatia & Greece and beyond"

🔌 Tech stipend: "🧑💻 Tech & Co-Working Budget to have access to the tools and spaces that fuel your focus"

🏝️ Vacation: "🏖️ Recharge Properly by enjoying 24 vacation days + 10 "Celebration Days" for holidays that actually matter to you."

👶 Paid Parental Leave: "because life > work."

    Community Boost

    Marketing · 11-100 · Est. 2012 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Community Boost is the premiere digital marketing agency for social impact and nonprofit organizations. For over a decade, they have successfully navigated the ever-changing digital landscape for some of the world’s most important organizations.

    🌶️ Hot take

I don't get to write about Community Boost often because they aren't often hiring, however, there are a lot of good things to consider when they ARE actively hiring. I would like to see more about their remote work policy, though. Their statement (posted below), is a little too vague for my liking.

🔎 Strong Glassdoor: CB has a Glassdoor rating of 4.2, putting them in the upper 25% of remote companies.

🏝️ Unlimited PTO: "We want to be uncomfortable with how much freedom our team has, so we offer unlimited paid time off so our team doesn’t have to choose between mental health days, long weekends or vacations."

🏥 Healthcare: "Health is wealth, which is why we offer medical, dental, vision and life insurance – all available at the first of next month after your start date."

🔌 Tech Stipend: "Macbooks, $100/mo Work-from-home stipend and access to over 3,000 co-working spaces."

iubenda provides a comprehensive solution for data law compliance, trusted by over 80,000 clients worldwide. They take a holistic approach to compliance, keeping a close eye on key legislations such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, and ePrivacy.

    🌶️ Hot take

iubenda has offices, but allows their employees to work fully remote. I would LOVE to see more information about their policy on working from anywhere (as a digital nomad would). They have some solid publicly published benefits and perks:

Their Glassdoor score is currently at 4.3, which is not the end-all be-all, but is an indicator we use. I do like that they have some exciting company retreats, which has happened in the Dolomites, Sicily, and Venice.

WorkMotion is breaking geographical barriers with their global HR platform, enabling seamless international hiring and onboarding. They are on a mission to create a world where anyone can work from anywhere, fostering global collaboration and innovation.

    🌶️ Hot take

WorkMotion leans HEAVILY on their strong beliefs on hiring and working from anywhere. To lift a statement from their careers page: "By emphasizing talent over location, we've assembled a global team that values flexibility and relies on trust." This is the way of the future employee-employer relationships.

Let me just add one more line that I absolutely love from their careers page:

"Trust based work. Organise your own schedule - we celebrate results, not hours spent working." Can I get an amen from the back, please?!

Here’s some of the things I like:

💪 Gym membership: Get access to subsidised gym membership or sports club subscriptions.

They offer integrated academic and event scheduling, course demand projections, curriculum management, and solutions through a singular, bi-directional integration with your Student Information System (SIS) online catalog.

    🌶️ Hot take

I would love to see Coursedog talk a bit less about themselves and what they expect of their workers and more about what they can offer prospective employees in the introduction of their careers page. That said, they are fully-remote, have a transparent perk package, and strong Glassdoor reviews. Also, they tick one of the most important boxes in my book:

I also like their published views on work-life balance. I'd love to hear a little more about where they hire, and how they feel about working while traveling. Here's some strong benefits and perks:

✈️ Unlimited PTO: "We value work-life balance and provide a high amount of autonomy. In service to this, our Paid Time Off policy has no annual limit."

👶 Paid Parental Leave: "workplace, we offer up to twelve (12) weeks of paid parental leave for the primary care giver and six (6) weeks of paid leave for the secondary care giver."

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Customer.io brings you a nifty marketing automation tool that sends personalized messages matching user behavior. Their real-time data wizardry guarantees on-point and timely communication, jazzing up user experiences on both web and mobile platforms.

    🌶️ Hot take

Note that Customer.io's Glassdoor score has increased from 3.3 to 3.5. Don't put all your stock in GD reviews, but use them as an indicator. They have a very solid careers page, clear perks package, and even a map...I'm such a sucker for a map.

What I want MORE of is a better explanation of their remote work policy, and hiring location policies. Put it on my wishlist, please! Help me get you out there to our readers! I particularly like their async work culture that tries to keep meetings to a minimum (a HUGE plus from me).

I also really like their extensive perk and benefit package. Make sure to take a look at their careers page, it's extensive!

Here’s some of the things I like:

💻 Asynchronous work style: “We prioritize thoughtful communication and reducing unnecessary communication to focus on meaningful work.”

🏥 Health and wellness: “We pay 100% medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you AND your family.”

🏝️ Paid sabbatical: “After 5 years, treat yourself to a month of paid sabbatical”

💻 Equipment budget: “A monthly remote work stipend of $250 USD to cover the costs of internet, cell phone plans, and other remote work costs.”

✈️ Unlimited PTO: “We encourage at least 20 vacation days (in addition to holidays and sick days) so that you can unwind, unplug, and recharge”

    🌶️ Hot take

Can I get a quick amen from the back of the room for this statement?

Can we not just implement this way of thinking across every C-suite exec across all of business? It's. So. Obvious. Thank you, Adapty, you make me happy and you make this newsletter easy to write. You keep doing you. Make sure to take a look at their memo on what work life looks like at Adapty. I particularly like this quote from the company:

"We’re a remote-first company and embrace global hiring without any geographical restrictions. Our employees can work from anywhere and have the flexibility to move around the world while working with us. Our work environment is asynchronous, allowing team members to maintain a healthy work-life balance."

But also try to get me a few more Glassdoor reviews so that I can give you a peer score! I'd also love to see a list of the perks you offer employees.

    Cloud Eagle io

    Software Dev · 11-100 · Est. 2021 · Company page on the Atlas ↗

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Cloud Eagle io supports Finance, Procurement, and IT teams by making the SaaS buying and renewal process easier. They help save on software expenses and ensure smooth operations for customer applications. Their goal is simple: by taking care of vendor management and cost optimization, they free up customer teams to focus on business growth.

    🌶️ Hot take

Here's what I said a couple months ago about CloudEagle:

"With dropping Glassdoor reviews I've got CloudEagle on my watchlist for the next couple of months. I never want to put all my stock into GD because employers can stuff reviews, and the bottom 10% of angry employees can bomb out a company's score. So I would love to hear from some current and past employees for a better feel of how things are going. Shoot me a note!"

🔔 Update: Glassdoor reviews have buoyed to 3.6. Again, you don't want to put all your stock into Glassdoor, but it is an indicator we pay attention to.

Also, they eliminated their statement on being a "fast-paced" environment", which makes me VERY happy.

Fully-remote. CloudEagle is unclear if they will let you work from anywhere (any representative please reach out to me to confirm). Company policy: “CloudEagle is a fully remote team and we're hiring across the world. We believe flexibility leads to productivity, so outside of a few company-wide gatherings, you are free to choose your own schedule.”

Toptal has one of my favorite (and clear) remote work policies:

I would love to see a little more information about the perks and benefits Toptal offers its employees.
