    People ARE getting remote jobs.

Despite how terrible the job market is right now, people are actually getting remote jobs.

A lot of people are doing it on their own, like my reader Ashley:

I cannot express how happy this makes me...

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, Ashley!

Ashley is just one of many messages I get weekly from people who apply to jobs from this newsletter and get remote work.

And I'm so grateful to each of you who share your stories.

It's VERY doable to get hired on your own.

Some people do want some extra help from our team to get hired faster, and that's awesome too...

We occasionally have a few openings in the program, but we are VERY selective because we only take on people we are confident we can help. It's boutique.

If you want to see if we are a match, fill out the form below.

Apply for the remote jobs program here.

If you want to do it on your own, awesome. Almost everything I do is free and designed to help you go it alone. We have:

    A free podcast.

Database of remote companies I've personally scored and reviewed.

Do people care about the corporate ladder, at all?

I've got FIVE new companies and 67 jobs to share this week. But first, indulge me...

Hang with me for three minutes, because this is an important topic.

(And probably why you're here in the first place.)

I started my "career" as a marketing intern in San Francisco back in 2011.

It was a far stretch from working in mosquito abatement on an aquatic tank in swamps for seven years. Seriously, I drove a little mosquito tank.

    I was making $200 a month. Let's. Go!

I parked a couple miles away in Chinatown because it was only $11/day. (An absolute STEAL!)

Subway $5 footlongs were FIVE DOLLARS, and a foot long (remember those days?). That's lunch AND dinner.

I'd walk past a fancy restaurant called "Bob's Steak and Chophouse" every morning where fancy people in suits ate expensive breakfasts.

I thought to myself, "I'm gonna climb to the top of that ladder and eat in that restaurant someday."

I'm gonna be one of those dudes.

    And I did.

After ten years of busting my *ss, I become a CMO, the marketing top dog.

I strolled by that restaurant one day and though "Now."

I walked in and sat down.

The food sucked. The staff sucked. The "fancy people" were self-important jerks.

    I walked out laughing.
    I walked out laughing.

So the question I have for you is this...

Do you care about the corporate ladder, prestige, and high pay?

Or do you care about work flexibility and work-life balance?

Would you rather have flexible working hours living on a beach in Mexico, or making 3x the pay and working in an office?

So tell me in the comments...what's more important to you?

Conversion Rate Experts (CRE) is a globally renowned consultancy that strategically enhances the profitability of online businesses through scientific optimization. Their proven methodology has been implemented by some of the internet's most sophisticated companies, such as Apple, Google, Amazon, and Facebook.

Look at this statement below. Look at it! It makes my heart sing.

Also, how have I NEVER heard of this before. Read this statement, then look at the chart:

We use software called Limeade Listening to monitor and manage our company culture. Every month, Limeade Listening asks each of us how happy we are, on a scale of 1 to 5. As the graph below shows, our team happiness score is way above average. (Plus, we expect that Limeade Listening’s average is already high, because its clients are companies that focus on this kind of thing.)

These are my new favorite people.

    🌶️ Hot take

It's a pretty boilerplate careers page..."Dream big", "win together", "Keep it simple", "make it happen." These proclamations don't say anything. What DOES say something is a testimonial, of which there are many.

Many roles are "fully remote", but ask you to be near a hub. Some let you work from anywhere. Keep a keen eye out for WFA roles.

Their modern platform dishes out accurate multifamily data and analytics that are top-notch. It's all about providing actionable, high-quality data to help brokers, investors, analysts, vendors, suppliers, sales reps, apartment locators, and real estate agents make informed decisions.

    🌶️ Hot take

I WISH...wish I knew more about this company. They have a 4.7 on Glassdoor at this point (91 reviews!), but they have a very sparse careers page.

    Benefits? Question marks.

Company culture? Beyond Glassdoor, no idea.

Remote? Yep, they don't seem to care where you work.

I can't put all my stock in Glassdoor, because it can be easily manipulated (a story for another day), but they all seem to read consistently:

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

At Mode, they believe that every human on the planet deserves an equal opportunity to become financially self-sustaining. Therefore, they've developed earn-as-you-go software that enables supplemental income, democratizes access to capital, and increases the realization of financial potential for budget-conscious, financially-challenged, and underserved consumers globally.

    🌶️ Hot take

Here's the positives I've found on Mode Mobile:

    • Strong Glassdoor score (4.2).
    • Clear remote work policy.
    • They're global: "Our team works remotely around the 🌎, with members in the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Poland, India, and more."

    Here's the negatives I've gleaned:

    • "We operate at startup speed"...usually translates to burnout in my experience.
    • "A fast-moving, supportive, global remote environment"...2/3 of this is good, "fast-moving" is always a concern.
    • They talk a lot more about their company rather than why you should work there. SELL ME!

GameTime is your top spot for snagging last-minute tickets to the best sports, music, and theater events across the U.S. and Canada. They're all about creating unforgettable shared experiences, and their passion fuels the tech that brings people together in real life.

    🌶️ Hot take

I'm considering Gametime for regular inclusion in the newsletter, but I'm not 100% clear on their WFA policy. They have a bit of a vague, "remote friendly" policy that doesn't fully clarify any potential limitations. That said, they ARE fully remote, have a decent perk package, and acceptable Glassdoor reviews. Here's a few features:

🏝️ Unlimited PTO: "Take what you need' vacation policy (we actually mean it!)"

👶🏾 Paid Parental Leave: Peace of mind for parents to dedicate their time to the care of their new child

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Constructor is the only AI product discovery platform designed explicitly for eCommerce retailers. Unlike other product search and discovery platforms, machine learning is in Constructor's DNA, bringing dynamic personalization to the customer experience.

    🌶️ Hot take

Constructor's careers page is 90% employee-first in its verbiage, with a few tiny blurbs at the bottom about the company's core values. They are PITCHING prospects. Bravo. And guess what? They are going to get the best talent that works the hardest and doesn't leave the company.

With a 94% employee retention rate and 4.7 stars on Glassdoor, I completely buy it. Note to companies out there still promoting themselves as company/vision-first, take note. This is how you build a strong team and generate revenue. Here's a few things I like:

✈️ Unlimited PTO: "We provide unlimited vacation time, unlimited sick time, and a minimum of 10 paid holidays every year. Also, take 3 mandatory weeks off per year!"

🏥 Healthcare: "Constructor pays for 99% of our United States team members’ medical, dental, and vision premiums."

🔌 Tech/workspace stipend: "Constructor supports your optimal work-from-home setup. This includes a yearly Remote Work Stipend + one-time New Hire $500 Setup Stipend, as well as a company-issued Apple laptop."

Passion.io lets you easily create and sell your own mobile app without needing to know how to code — kind of like building your own Netflix or fitness coaching app for your audience. It's perfect if you're a coach, creator, or expert who wants to turn your content into a polished, interactive experience people can access from their phones.

    🌶️ Hot take

These folks have very very little for me to work with from their sparse careers page, BUT they have a work-from-anywhere remote work policy and a 4.7 Glassdoor score. Also, they have a lot of personality and detail in their job listings, which they REALLY should be including on their careers page. Like, seriously. I love some of the buried statements in these listings, like:

"Your success is measured by results, not hours."

    And some awesome perks like:

"Enjoy 24 days of paid vacation plus 10 days of “Celebration Leave” for holidays that matter to you."

C'mon folks, there is SO much good stuff in these listings - get it formatted on your careers page! I love it. I will say that I LOVE their employee video, which you should definitely watch. Most importantly, they look fun and genuine. Here's some things I like:

🏝️ Paid Retreats: "✈️ Team retreats to meet your team IRL in places like Portugal, Croatia & Greece and beyond"

🔌 Tech stipend: "🧑💻 Tech & Co-Working Budget to have access to the tools and spaces that fuel your focus"

🏝️ Vacation: "🏖️ Recharge Properly by enjoying 24 vacation days + 10 "Celebration Days" for holidays that actually matter to you."

👶 Paid Parental Leave: "because life > work."

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Customer.io brings you a nifty marketing automation tool that sends personalized messages matching user behavior. Their real-time data wizardry guarantees on-point and timely communication, jazzing up user experiences on both web and mobile platforms.

    🌶️ Hot take

Note that Customer.io's Glassdoor score has increased from 3.3 to 3.6 over the past year. Don't put all your stock in GD reviews, but use them as an indicator. They have a very solid careers page, clear perks package, and even a map...I'm such a sucker for a map.

What I want MORE of is a better explanation of their remote work policy, and hiring location policies. Put it on my wishlist, please! Help me get you out there to our readers! I particularly like their async work culture that tries to keep meetings to a minimum (a HUGE plus from me).

I also really like their extensive perk and benefit package. Make sure to take a look at their careers page, it's extensive!

Here’s some of the things I like:

💻 Asynchronous work style: “We prioritize thoughtful communication and reducing unnecessary communication to focus on meaningful work.”

🏥 Health and wellness: “We pay 100% medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you AND your family.”

🏝️ Paid sabbatical: “After 5 years, treat yourself to a month of paid sabbatical”

💻 Equipment budget: “A monthly remote work stipend of $250 USD to cover the costs of internet, cell phone plans, and other remote work costs.”

✈️ Unlimited PTO: “We encourage at least 20 vacation days (in addition to holidays and sick days) so that you can unwind, unplug, and recharge”

📚 Learning & development allowance: “Professional development budget up to $2,000 USD per year”

Uscreen was founded back in 2014 and started off without any external funding. It's basically a cool platform made specifically for video creators. What's neat about Uscreen is that it lets creators set up paid memberships that come with a bunch of awesome features: like building their own video libraries, offering live streams, and even creating their own little community hub. Oh, and the best part? It's all wrapped up in their very own branded site and apps. Using Uscreen can really help creators boost their brand, connect with their community on a deeper level, and keep their business going strong.

    🌶️ Hot take

Uscreen pulls top marks in our Anywhere Atlas database of remote companies. One of my absolute favorite things to read about remote companies is that they started remote. That means they weren't forced to adapt to remote life during covid. It means they understand how to manage remote employees, trust them to be autonomous, and recognize their efforts based on output rather than physical attendance.

"Remote first, remote always. Uscreen has been 100% remote since 2016. We’ve accomplished incredible things alongside an incredibly diverse team; all while living wherever our hearts desire."

Here's some of the things they offer:

🏝️ Unlimited PTO: "Unlimited PTO and flexible parental leave"

🏥 Medical: Full health, dental, and vision coverage

🐖 Retirement (that's a piggy bank): "401(k) plan with company match"

🔌 Tech/office stipend: Monthly stipends for home office or coworking space

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Fingerprint provides a device‑intelligence platform that creates highly accurate, persistent "visitor IDs" for both web and mobile users, helping businesses stop fraud, detect bots, and improve user experience—even when visitors are anonymous or clear their cookies.

    🌶️ Hot take

Fingerprint has a clear remote work policy - work from anywhere, and hire from nearly anywhere. The give transparent salary ranges per job listing, some solid perks, solid Glassdoor reviews, and a friendly-ish careers page. I would LOVE to see this page sell me a little harder on why I should work there..."Here's our transparent hiring process", and "We believe in contribution and trust over hours and micromanagement." With a little bit more work, it's there. That said, they look fantastic. Here's some features:

💵 Transparent salaries: I'm seeing this more and more, and I like it.

📚 Learning budget: "We want you to grow with us, so we offer a $600 yearly budget that you can spend to learn new stuff."

🏝️ Paid Retreats: "We meet up as a company once a year (We went to Mexico City in 2023!) and teams meet up in smaller groups throughout the year."

✈️ Unlimited PTO: "To prioritize work-life balance, we even have a minimum vacation days target to encourage everyone gets the rest they need."

💻 Async: "We work asynchronously and respect time-zone differences. Choose where and when you do your work best."

🔎 What they do Live from the Atlas

Buffer is your go-to social media management platform, beloved by brands, businesses, agencies, and individuals alike for boosting engagement and achieving real results on social media. With a range of tools for publishing, engagement, analytics, and team collaboration, Buffer is designed to make social media marketing easier and more productive.

    🌶️ Hot take

I rarely get to share Buffer hot takes because they don't hire often, but they are this week, and I'm pumped to talk about them.

Frankly, I don't think I've ever a company offer more perks than Buffer does in the five years I've been working on this project. Check out all this awesome stuff:

And, they are perfectly clear about their remote work policy:

"Buffer is a fully remote team, spread across the whole planet. We have teammates in 22 countries, 51 cities, and 11 timezones (and counting!). As a member of our team, you will be invited to work wherever you’re happiest and most productive."

Finally, I LOVE their perspective on reflection and time away from work to unblock your creative thinking:

"We carve out time for reflection in order to unblock ourselves. We believe personal growth stems from vulnerability and introspection as we focus on ongoing self-improvement."

    Yodo1 Games

    🔎 What they do

Yodo1 helps game developers make more money from their games without ruining the player experience. They handle everything from ads to licensing so creators can focus on making fun games.

    🌶️ Hot take

Yodo1 is an absolute WFA darling...I should just have a dedicated newsletter for their job listings (I won't though). Their entire careers page is about employees, not the company. Even better, they talk ad nauseam about working remotely (which is always good for me).

"We love games, we play games, we grow games—from anywhere in the world. Will you add the next country to our map?"

    And this...
    And this...

"We don’t care about titles, your location, or the hours you work—only your impact on helping developers grow their games." I could NOT word that any better myself, after seeing thousands of careers pages. Oh, and can I get an AMEN for a clear remote work policy?

And of course I love their stance on remote work: "Travel when and where you like, get paid in your currency of choice, and enjoy flexible hours and unlimited paid time off."

Alright, listen up! Muck Rack is your go-to platform for Public Relations Management (PRM). It's like your PR superhero, helping organizations connect with the media, tackle crisis risks, and show off how PR impacts business results.

    🌶️ Hot take

Muck Rack will always hold a top spot in our database. They are the model for what we look for in a solid company: Good benefits, geo-neutral pay, remote-forever company policy, and great employee reviews. And take a peek at the benefit package (for US employees - international employees are likely negotiated or contract):

I would PREFER a "no meeting any day" policy, but one step at a time, Jeff. We will get there and it will be glorious.

Cobbleweb is a web development agency defined by its people. Real people stitched together by a passion for overcoming the complex challenges faced by startups and forward-thinking companies. They're devoted to building digital products that will shape behavior and change the lives of millions.

    🌶️ Hot take

Thank you again, readers! I've always believed (and actually KNOW) that companies founded with a fully-remote structure function leaps and bounds better than those forced into it from covid. Cobbleweb speaks to this poing:

Remote-first has been baked into our culture from the very beginning, since we were founded as a distributed company in 2012. Our mindset has always been focussed on creating the best possible environment for remote work. It starts with a structured approach to the software development process. You can look forward to close collaboration on product discovery, well-planned sprints and transparent feedback sessions.

See? Told ya. They have a great careers page, but I would love to see more clarity around their perks and benefits package, and some more clarity on whether or not they care if their remote employees travel while working.
